Last week (Tuesday 20 April), International Handball Federation (IHF) President Dr Hassan Moustafa met with International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Dr Thomas Bach at the stunning headquarters of the IOC – Olympic House in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The meeting saw a number of general sporting issues discussed before the talk moved on to handball-specific issues. 

First up was the successful 2021 IHF Men’s World Championship held in Egypt previously praised by Dr Bach as “setting an example…to give us all confidence in the entire Olympic Movement,” before the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and Paris 2024 Olympic Games were then discussed.

Dr Bach and Dr Moustafa enjoy a long-standing, healthy working and personal relationship, meeting regularly both in person and remotely, with the IOC President a strong supporter of both handball and beach handball.
