October courses coming to three continents

October sees a full slate of courses with three coaches’ courses and one Olympic Solidarity Technical Course for Coaches.

The first course of the month begins on 15 October in Canada on the fringes of the IHF Trophy North America and the Caribbean. The tournament in Canada is currently in the Continental Phase and will see 14 teams fight for their tickets to the Intercontinental Phase in youth and junior competitions.

The next coaches’ course is in P.R. of China starting on 23 October. After a successful Handball at School Programme in May that saw more than 300 participants obtain their D-licence, this course, is held also as a part of the New Markets’ Project, which focuses on growing handball in key markets.

Finally, the month ends with a course Tunisia in partnership with the Arab Handball Federation beginning on 27 October*.

The course lecturers are Frantisek Taborsky in Canada, Paul Landuré in China and Nabeel Taha in Tunisia.

The lone Olympic Solidarity Technical Course for Coaches is scheduled to start on 21 October (subject to change) in Sierra Leone with Wolfgang Lowak. This will be the 12th Olympic Solidarity course of 2019. Olympic Solidarity’s mission is to help National Olympic Committees (NOCs) develop and strengthen their structures, support their athletes, coaches and administrators, and promote the Olympic values through targeted programmes. In partnership with the International Olympic Committee, National Olympic Committees and Olympic Solidarity, IHF aims to provide National Federations with the best support possible to effectively develop and grow the game of handball in their country.

October follows a full September of courses that took place from Timor Leste to Estonia.
