Super Globe spot at stake in Fremont

The best men's clubs from North America and the Caribbean will compete for a spot at the 2021 IHF Men’s Super Globe in Saudi Arabia at the NACHC qualification event, taking place from 25 to 27 August in Fremont, California, USA, approximately 60 kilometres from San Francisco.

Due to travel restrictions, only three teams will participate in the tournament – two American clubs, San Francisco Cal Heat and New York City Team Handball Club, and the Mexican side Club Ministros de Monterrey.

The winner of the round-robin tournament – the team with the most points after three games – will represent the North America and Caribbean Handball Confederation (NACHC) at the 2021 IHF Men’s Super Globe, to be held in Saudi Arabia from 5 to 9 October.

The home side San Francisco Cal Heat are the 2019 United States national champions looking to confirm that domestic title with a win at the NACHC qualifier.

In their turn, fellow American side New York City Team Handball Club became the first North American team to qualify for the Super Globe in 2019, and they hope to clinch a spot at this tournament for the second straight time.

And the reigning Mexican champions Club Ministros de Monterrey are looking to become the first club from their country to ever qualify for the Super Globe.
