Key highlights of the day: Poland/Sweden 2023 starts with intriguing clash

Witam Cię w Polsce. Välkommen till Sverige. The wait is finally over and the 2023 IHF Men’s World Championship is now ready to start, with nine venues in Poland and Sweden ready to welcome the 32 teams that will be participating in the competition.
Teams have already started to arrive at their respective venues. The grand start and a superb opening ceremony are being prepared in Katowice, Poland, where the hosts will take on reigning Olympic champions France in a crunch battle that will determine their future in the competition.
With 112 matches set to be played at Poland/Sweden 2023, the schedule is easy to follow so you won’t miss any of your favourite team’s matches.
We have already talked to some of the teams involved, the first of which is Poland. The co-hosts have been preparing for the tournament since 2015, when their bid to host was successful, and they have a lot at stake with the whole country behind them. As the Spodek Arena in Katowice will be sold out, Poland’s coach Patryk Rombel talks about being “humble and excited” to play in the competition.
