University of Queensland delivered a flawless performance throughout the 2023 Oceania & Australian Club Championships, sealing their first-ever title in the continental competition and subsequently qualifying for the 2023 IHF Men’s Super Globe, becoming the third Australian team in history to play in the competition.
Al-Noor will take part in the IHF Men’s Super Globe only for the second time in their history, making their way to the competition as the second host team to be invited, after they secured the second place in the Prince Faisal bin Fahad Saudi Handball League last season.
The Saudi side finished the competition with 19 wins and three losses, with only two points behind the champions, Khaleej Club, after a nip-and-tuck battle between the two powerhouses in the Saudi Arabian competition, with everything decided by the finest of margins.
For the second time in history, a Bahraini side will feature at the IHF Men’s Super Globe, as Al-Najma will return to the competition for the first time since 2018, when they ended up on the seventh place, after conceding losses against Barcelona and Tunisian side Hammamet, as their only win came against Sydney Uni, 28:26.
Last season has been nothing short of amazing for Al-Ahly, who stopped the four-season winning streak from rivals Zamalek SC in the Egyptian league, while also adding more important silverware for the club at continental level.
Al-Ahly secured their place at the 2023 IHF Men’s Super Globe with their second win in a row in the Men's African Super Cup, a trophy which they had previously won only once before the back-to-back wins, in 2017.Â
For the first time in history, an Argentinian side will feature at the IHF Men’s Super Globe, after San Fernando HB delivered a huge shock at the 2023 South and Central American Championship, clinching the title in the the final against favourites Handebol Taubaté, after a 35:33 win in extra-time.
With an eight-game winning streak at the IHF Men’s Super Globe, Magdeburg have been invincible over the past two editions of the competition, delivering outstanding performances, including two huge wins over Barcelona in the previous two finals.
Industria Kielce have established themselves as one of the top European sides, the consistency and the family-like spirit induced by coach Talant Dujshebaev being close to none over the last few years.
The Spanish coach has took over in 2014, spending nearly a decade in this position, and Kielce flourished under his supervision, winning the Machineseeker EHF Champions League once, in 2016, and made the trip to the FINAL4 in Cologne multiple times.
