In the previous edition of the IHF Men’s Super Globe, Kuwait SC became only the third Kuwaiti club in history to take part in the competition, after Al-Salmiya represented the country in 2002 and Al-Qadsiya featured in 2007, breaking a 15-year wait for Kuwaiti sides.
No team has won more titles at the IHF Men’s Super Globe than Barça, with the Spanish powerhouse securing five trophies over their eight appearances. Moreover, the Spanish giants have finished every single time they played on the podium, completing their performances with a third place in 2015 and the second place in the previous two editions, in 2021 and 2022.
With a two-point advantage over rivals Al-Noor, Khaleej Club secured an exceptional performance last season in the Prince Faisal bin Fahad Saudi Handball League, being crowned champions and subsequently earning a ticket to the 2023 IHF Men’s Super Globe, the second consecutive edition where the club from Dammam will be playing in front of their own fans, who created an outstanding atmosphere in the last edition.
2023 has been a successful year for American handball, as the senior men’s national team secured their maiden win at the IHF Men’s World Championship, while the junior and youth men’s teams also made appearances at the World Championship at their age categories.
