Women
The only team which will make its debut at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in the women’s competition will be Slovenia, which had a meteoric rise under the guidance of experienced coach Dragan Adzic, who has already secured a medal at the Olympics with Montenegro – silver at London 2012.
After a 16-year hiatus, Germany women’s senior national team returns to the Olympic Games, after finishing 11th at Beijing 2008. It was a long wait, but also a long time coming for Germany, who have been one of the most improved and consistent teams in the world over the past few years.
At the IHF Women’s World Championship, Germany finished eighth at Japan 2019, seventh at Spain 2021 and sixth at Denmark/Norway/Sweden 2023, while ending up on the seventh place at both the EHF EURO 2020 and at the EHF EURO 2022.Â
