Paraguay

Since their first IHF Women’s World Championship participation in 2007, Paraguay have won five of their 20 games played in the competition, for a 25% winning percentage, meeting their goals for a team of their stature.

In their three participations, they finished 21st twice and 23rd once, at their debut, at France 2007, but Spain 2021 might present a different challenge, with the first-ever 32-team line-up at the start.

Argentina

Two years ago in Japan, Argentina had their best performance at the IHF Women's World Championship, and now the South American team hope to take another step forward.

They have not missed a World Championship since 2003, and in 2019, Eduardo Gallardo's team enjoyed their best finish, 16th place, and averaged the most goals per game (29.5).

Brazil

Eight years ago, Brazil produced one of the biggest surprises in the history of women’s handball by taking their first IHF Women’s World Championship title. It was a flawless tournament at Serbia 2013 for the South American side, just two years after dropping only one game to finish fifth on home court.

Since then, Brazil have never able to replicate their form, finishing 10th at Denmark 2015 and then dropping to 18th at Germany 2017 and 17th at Japan 2019.
