In less than four months, France will be in the spotlight of the handball world once again. The home of the Olympic silver medallists and reigning men’s world champions, welcomes the whole world from 11 to 29 January 2017 to celebrate the 25th Men’s World Championship.

After a very successful first ticketing phase, where handball fans could buy ticket packages to either follow their team or all matches in one venue, the second phase was launched on 15 September 2016, 18:00.  Joel Delplanque, President of the French Handball Federation, is happy with the ticket sales so far: “We are really pleased to have reached already the symbolic figure of 200,000 sold tickets. The handball family rallied as expected, but I’m pleased that almost half of the ticket holders are not actual handball licensees.”

The matches of the 2017 Men’s World Championship will be played in 8 venues. The preliminary round will be played in Nantes, Metz, Rouen and Paris, the eighth-finals and quarter-finals will be played in Albertville, Lille Metropole, Montpellier and Paris, the President’s Cup will be staged in Brest and Paris will host the semi-finals, the match for third place and the final.
