In its meeting in Paris, France on 28 January 2017, the IHF Council unanimously approved the awarding of the 2017 Ordinary IHF Congress to the Turkish Handball Federation.

The XXXVI Ordinary IHF Congress will thus take place in Antalya, Turkey from 10 to 13 November 2017. The IHF Congress date announcement sent to the IHF Member Federations on 10 February 2017 included the important deadlines which should be met by the National Federations.
