Preview: Beach World Championship enters Main Round
15 Jul. 2016

Hungary’s women throw-off the fourth match day of the 2016 IHF Beach Handball World Championships for men and women today with a tough match against Norway, as title holders Brazil play on one of the smaller courts against Italy.
Following the opening women’s matches, the Hungarian men face the tough match-up against Brazil in a game that will again be shown live on Hungarian TV.
“Hungary will have the support of the home crowd,” said Brazilian player Gil Perez. “We know what it’s like to play at home because we hosted the 2014 world championships in Brazil and it’s fantastic.
“The support can be very important as the level of the players increase with the people screaming.
“I think we have a big problem in that match, as Hungary are at a high level, but now we are in the Main Round we will just face good teams.”
In the afternoon and evening session Hungary play Brazil again, this time in the women’s competition and rounding off the Main Round day are two mouth-watering ties – Qatar vs Croatia in the men’s tournament and Spain vs Norway in the women’s tournament.
In the Consolation Round, teams will have to put their disappointment behind them in not qualifying for the Main Round.
