In the first round of the placement matches for the places 9 to 16 Portugal won clearly 39:29 against Qatar. The team from the Iberian Peninsula decided the match already after the first half at a score of 19:12. During the entire match the team from Qatar could not reach the excellent performance they had shown so far in this tournament. Therefore the Portuguese team was not confronted with any major difficulties during the second half. While Qatar will go on in this Junior Championship with the matches for the place 13 to 16, Portugal will enter the semifinals of the placement round (places 9 to 12). Best scorers of this match were Joao Ferraz, who scored nine times for Portugal and Hadi Hamdoon with seven goals for Qatar.

Placement match 19/20

18:00: Argentina – Korea 31:41 (15:22)

Clear victory for Korea

In the placement match for the place 19 in the final ranking of this Junior World Championship Korea came to a clear 41:31 victory against the team of Argentina. The South American team could not keep up with its competitor. Only in the first minutes of the match Argentina was in the lead with 2:0 after two minutes. Korea dominated the rest of the match, was 22:15 in lead after the first period and did not change even after the break. In the end it was a clear and highly deserved victory for the Asian team. Best shooters of this match were Minho Ha, who scored eleven times, and Ignacio Pizarro und Santiago Canepa, who each made ten goals for Argentina.
