Main Round: Group 1
Spain continued their dominance in Kazan as they won their sixth game in a row, against Poland (2:0) as 20 points from Maria Asuncion Batista Portero elevated her to 85 in Kazan in total and a joint top-scorer spot.

As Spain and Poland were already confirmed of their quarter-final spot before the days' matches the real story was who would qualify out of Paraguay and Chinese Taipei.

The Asian side easily won the first set, while the South American side easily won the second so it was left to a shootout to decide who would qualify through to the quarter-finals and it was not until the third of shots that there was a miss as Tzu-Hsuan Tsai hit the post and the ball went out and Paraguay went on to convert their three penalties as Wei-Juang Huang missed Taipei's final shot.

In the other match, already-eliminated Uruguay face Greece and put up quite a fight in the first period, but fell apart in the second, scoring just six points, before eventually going down in the shootout as the Greeks confirmed their quarter-final spot.
