The final day of the women's main round saw Croatia take the last semi-final place in the early match, meaning that Chinese Taipei had to settle for the 5/6 placement round later in the day.

All positions from 5-12 were decided in the afternoon session as courts two and three close for business at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games.

Women’s Main Round: Day 2
The opening game today made the final decision on who will compete for medals at Buenos Aires 2018 in the women's beach handball competition as Croatia beat Paraguay easily, putting Chinese Taipei out of contention in the following match no matter what the result.

Argentina had a nervous second match, with both periods being decided by just one point, but eventually they overcome Chinese Taipei 7:6 in the shoot-out to rapturous scenes in another packed day at the beach handball arena in Sarmiento Park.

In the last women's main round match of the day, Hungary took on Netherlands and it went all the way to a shoot-out - and both teams started badly, missing their first shots, but they quickly settled and it was not until Hungarian Greta Hadfi managed to fingertip pivot's Nyah Metz's shot onto the post that Hungary took the upper hand.

A single point from Klaudia Pinter then took an uncatchable lead and the Hungarians celebrated the end of the Dutch winning run.
