Coaches expect a thrilling match – Danish dynamite or Spanish art of handball

Denmark and Spain qualified for the last match of the IV Men’s Youth Handball World Championship – the final. For Claus Hansen, coach of the Danish team, the winner is already defined: “Spain.” Claus Hansen says and goes on explaining: “The Spanish team is the great favourite. We met before and the Iberians beat us already in the last two matches.” Hansen’s colleague from Spain, Alberto Suarez Menendez, replies laughing. “This is a final match at a youth tournament; reason enough to not see any favourite.” Reflecting the strength of each other, Menendez describes the Danish players as “monsters”, and adds quickly “But of course I mean only with regard to their height.” Also Claus Hansen is positively impressed by the Iberians, especially about their strong defense. “This is one of the best defenses all over the world”, Hansen says. “The Spanish youngsters played with different systems and extremely variable. But also in the offense they play very well.” All in all there is only one question left to ask: What will win: Danish dynamite or the Spanish art of handball playing?
