Eighth-final 2: Defending champions Denmark on their way

Denmark vs. Romania 35:14 (15:8)

The defending champions Denmark are on their way. To stop the Danish Handball express became a mission impossible for the young Romanians. Denmark dominated from the beginning on and decided the match after the first fifteen minutes. The brave team from Romania fought without any chance. The second half was a demonstration of the strength of the Danish team. With the typical dynamite the Scandinavians destroyed the last hope from the Romanians to find back into the match. Denmark is now one of the biggest favourites in the tournament. In the quarterfinal the defending champion will meet the Scandinavian opponent Norway.

Austria vs. Croatia 25:29 (11:13)

It was a tough fight between Austria and Croatia. The talents from Croatia took the lead in the first half with a steady maximum of two or three goals. This was also the result after 30 minutes. But this was not the final decision. Austria fought back in the second half time and turned the match on eye level. The Austrians were able to keep, but unable to change the result. Finally Croatia cheered, the unlucky Austrians will have to play in the placement round. The Croats will meet Sweden in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, 20 August.
