The International Handball Federation (IHF) has updated the IHF Ball Regulations to conform with the IHF Handball Requirements and Test Methods.

Changes include but are not limited to the identification of IHF approved balls (Article 5.2) due to the different categories of handballs (played with resin/played without resin), as well as the different categories of IHF approval ('IHF APPROVED PRO' and 'IHF APPROVED').
