Croatia and Denmark in Semi-Finals
20 Aug. 2013

Norway vs. Denmark 19:35 (7:16)
What a powerful demonstration of strength. Defending champion Denmark started like a rocket into the quarterfinal match against Norway. The Scandinavian opponent was surprised and impressed by this performance. The Danish team punished from the beginning on each mistake of the Norwegian players. With a lot of fast breaks the boys from head coach Claus Hansen over rolled their competitors and already decided the match in the first half. After the break Denmark repeated their perfect show. Danish dynamite remained on dry. The poor Norwegians played without real chances for victory. They gave their best, but it was not enough. It was a one-side match with a foreseen victory of the favorite by 35:19. In this shape the Danes are now a top favorite for the title.
Sweden vs. Croatia 22:27 (11:13)
Maybe that was the best game of the previous tournament. Both teams played on a very high level. And they played on eye level: The perfect conditions for a thrilling match in Budaörs. Neither Sweden nor Croatia could reach a decisive advantage during the first half time. With a two-goals advantage for Croatia the teams changed sides. Only five minutes after the break Sweden celebrated a comeback and took over the lead by 15:14. But now, Croatia acted better in their 3-2-1 defence and played also more concentrated in attack. With five goals in a row the Croatians took back the lead. After this period the match was well balanced again. But the Swedish team could not endanger the victory of the Croatians. Croatia will play the semi-final on Wednesday, 21 August.
