Eighth-Finals and President’s Cup match schedule confirmed

Following the completion of the last day of preliminary round matches at the 2017 IHF Women’s World Championship, the Eighth-Finals and President’s Cup match schedule has been announced.

Games to be determined after first day of matches – throw-offs at 11:30 and 14:00 in Leipzig and Magdeburg.

Eighth-finals: determination of matches
After completion of the preliminary round, the placement matches, eighth-finals, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals shall be played in accordance with the knock-out system.

Overtime is played, following a five-minute break, if a game is tied at the end of the regular playing time and a winner has to be determined. The overtime period consists of two halves of five minutes, with a one-minute half-time break.

If the game is again tied after a first overtime period, a second period is played after a five-minute break.

This overtime period also has two halves of five minutes, with a one-minute half-time break. Should the match still not be decided after the second overtime period, it is decided with 7m penalty throws in accordance with Rule 2:2 of the Rules of the Game.

President’s Cup: determination of matches
There will be no prolongation in the matches of the Presidents Cup. They will be executed with direct 7m penalty throws in accordance with Rule 2:2 of the Rules of the Game.
