Hosting a major sporting event such as a World Championship is not only a challenge but also a huge opportunity to grow a sport in a country. Therefore, several federations submitted their letters of intent earlier this year in order to seize their chance to welcome the world’s best teams to the 2025 and 2027 Men’s and Women’s World Championships. 

The following National Federations have submitted their letters of intent:

2025 IHF Men’s World Championship
- Croatia/Norway/Denmark 
- Hungary
- Switzerland

2025 IHF Women’s World Championship
- Germany/Netherlands

2027 IHF Men’s World Championship
- Croatia/Norway/Denmark 
- Hungary
- Germany

2027 IHF Women’s World Championship
- Hungary
- Republic of Korea

The awarding of the events will take place at the next IHF Council meeting in February 2020.
