The British Handball Association is the governing body for handball in the UK and responsible for the national teams at all age groups. The BHA was founded in 1967 and became a member of the IHF in 1968. It was also one of the original members of the European Handball Federation when it was created in 1991.

The England Handball Associations and Scottish Handball Associations are the BHA’s sole members, and are responsible for the grassroots development of the sport, as well as the national and regional league and cup competitions.
