37 new D coach licences awarded in the Republic of Moldova

37 out of 43 participants in an IHF D Licence course held in the Republic of Moldova in mid-November were successful in obtaining the qualification. The course, targeting coaches and educators working with handball, was led by IHF lecturer Dr Alexandru Acsinte from Romania.

“The IHF D Licence coaching course in Moldova was a real success, considering the open mind and hospitality of the involved parts, coaches and organising committee from each location,” said Acsinte.

“All the participants were interested in presented (theory) materials and they were involved in practical lessons as well. Working with young players between eight and 14 years old, it was obvious that all of them love handball and they were fully — body, mind, and spirit — involved in practical activities.”

All IHF education courses include theoretical and practical components. Topics covered across those two areas during the course in Moldova included mostly player-focused subjects such as general technical skills, improving speed and agility, physical conditioning, while elements such as coaches’ profile were also addressed. The course concluded after six days in three locations — Tiraspol, Bălți and Chișinău — with participants being tested in both theory and practice.

Acsinte confirmed great support and enthusiasm for the course on the part of the local organisers, with General Secretary of the Moldovan Handball Federation, Nicolae Vizitiu in attendance.
