Three semi-finalists determined at Men's IHF Trophy North American and Caribbean zone

Before the final day of the group stage at the Men's IHF Trophy North American and Caribbean zone, three of the four semi-finalists have already been determined.

In the only match in Group A played on Tuesday 13 December, Guadeloupe defeated Greenland (30:25). It was Greenland's second straight defeat in the competition, which means that they can no longer reach the semi-final.

United States of America, who had a rest day on Tuesday, and Guadeloupe have already progressed. On day three, they will fight for the top position in the group in a direct duel at 14:00 (local time), with the US team finishing first even if they draw.

In Group B, Cuba and Mexico, who had won their opening matches, faced off, and the Cubans ultimately defeated the home side (38:31) after leading 19:16 at half-time. In the other Tuesday match, Martinique earned their maiden points in the tournament, beating Puerto Rico 36:19.

Cuba top the group with four points and have already secured the top position in the group before the encounter with Puerto Rico, which will start at 16:00 on Wednesday. Mexico and Martinique, tied on two points, will fight for the second semi-final berth in a direct duel at 18:00. The hosts, who have a better goal difference, need at least a draw to progress, while Martinique can only advance with a win.
