The Women’s IHF Trophy Zone 2 Asia in Dhaka, Bangladesh, started on Saturday 13 May, so each participant in both youth and junior age categories played two matches during the weekend.

At the youth (U17) tournament, home team Bangladesh and India have already secured their berths at the final match following two straight wins. Bangladesh opened their campaign with a commanding 48:10 victory against Maldives, as their player Mosamat Marfi, scored 16 goals and then proved too strong for Nepal (50:4).

In turn, India defeated Nepal (47:1) and Maldives (42:14), so Bangladesh and India are tied on four points before their mutual encounter on Monday. In fact, it will be a dress rehearsal for the final, which is scheduled for Wednesday. And Nepal and Maldives, who have no points, will meet in their last group encounter on Monday and then in the third-place match on Tuesday.
