San Jose to host Men's IHF Trophy InterContinental Phase

The winners of the Men's IHF Trophy continental tournaments in both youth and junior age categories are ready to participate in the Men's IHF Trophy InterContinental Phase, which will take place in the capital of Costa Rica, San Jose, from 7 to 11 March 2023.

Five national teams from different continents will fight for the trophy in each competition: Georgia, Guadeloupe, Nicaragua, Nigeria and Tahiti at the youth (U18) tournament, and Australia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Great Britain and Guinea at the junior (U20) event. Notably, no nation is represented in both events. 

Both competitions will be held in a round-robin format, so the team with the most points will win the trophy. 

All the matches will be played at the BN Arena in San Jose. The winners of both events will automatically qualify for the World Championships in their respective age categories.
