Paris 2024 Olympic Games women's line-up completed

Following the conclusion of the IHF Women’s Olympic Qualification Tournaments in Debrecen, Torrevieja and Neu-Ulm, six teams have earned their tickets for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with the 12-team line-up for the competition now completed.

In the Olympic Qualification Tournament #1, Hungary and Sweden were the two qualified teams, with the hosts securing three wins out of three matches and placing first, which means they go directly into Pot 1 in the draw which will take place on Tuesday.

Sweden, which have qualified for the fifth consecutive time to the Olympic Games, will be headed to Pot 4, alongside hosts France, after clinching wins against Japan and Great Britain, but losing against the hosts, 25:28.

The Olympic Qualification Tournament #2 in Torrevieja saw Spain and the Netherlands progress to Paris 2024 after only two matchdays, but the winner was decided in the head-to-head match on Sunday, with the Dutch side taking a 27:26 win and heading to Pot 2.

In the Olympic Qualification Tournament #3, which took place in Neu-Ulm, hosts Germany had no issues against Slovenia, Montenegro and Paraguay, winning three out of three, and they will be headed to Pot 2, alongside the Netherlands.

Slovenia, which have their women’s team for the first time in history at the Olympic Games, are in Pot 3, after their decisive 30:26 win against Montenegro saw them finish second, behind Germany. 

The six sides join the previously six qualified teams in the competition. Hosts France were already qualified when the hosting rights for the 2024 Olympic Games were awarded to Paris, while world champions Norway secured their berth when they clinched the 2023 IHF Women’s World Championship title.

Angola secured their ticket via the 2023 CAHB African Women’s Handball Championship, where they won the title, with the Republic of Korea progressing via the AHF Asian Women’s Handball Olympic Qualification Tournament.

Last, but not least, Denmark progressed via the EHF EURO 2022, where they finished as runners-up behind Norway, while Brazil clinched the title at the 2023 Pan American Games and are the continent's representatives.

The draw for the women’s handball competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be made on 16 April, in Paris, France.

The 12 qualified teams will be divided into six pots. The seeding for the draw will be as follows:
