The IHF has been continuously monitoring the development of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the related travel and entry restrictions affecting the organisation of a physical Congress meeting.

Based on the aforementioned, it has been decided that the upcoming XXXVIII Ordinary IHF Congress is taking place virtually (by video conference) on 

Saturday, 6 November 2021
from 12:00 to 18:00 CET (Basel time)

Referring to the meetings of the Continental Confederations to be held prior to the IHF Congress, the following preliminary timetable has been fixed:

10:00-12:00 CET Meeting of Asian Handball Federation (virtually)
12:00-16:00 CET Meeting of African Handball Confederation (virtually)
14:00-16:00 CET Meeting of European Handball Federation (virtually)
16:00-18:00 CET Meeting of South and Central America Handball Confederation (virtually)
18:00-20:00 CET Meeting of North America and Caribbean Handball Confederation (virtually)
18:00-20:00 CET Meeting of Oceania Continent Handball Federation (virtually)
