Hungary v Poland, 14:00 CST
After a commanding win against Chinese Taipei, 46:10, at the start of the tournament, Hungary faced more resilience from Tunisia on day two. However, the European side won again, this time 32:24.
With 78 goals, the Hungarians boast the third-best attack in the entire competition. Before the last group match, they have already secured a main round spot and top Group G, being ahead of their next rivals Poland on goal difference.
The Polish side are also through, but just like Hungary, they are motivated to win on Saturday in order to start the next stage with two points and eventually improve their chances of a quarter-final spot.
In their opening game at China 2026, Poland had the upper hand against Tunisia following a hard fight, 26:22. Playing against Chinese Taipei, the Poles felt more at ease and cruised to a commanding 33:10 win.
Last year, Hungary and Poland met at the group stage of the W19 EHF EURO 2025, where Hungary won by just one goal, 25:24, and another close fight can be expected on Saturday.
Norway v Faroe Islands, 16:15 CST
In Group H, Japan have already progressed to the main round, while Norway and the Faroe Islands remain in contention for the second spot, and their mutual encounter on Saturday will play a crucial role.
The two Nordic sides are level on two points, and while the Faroe Islands only need a victory, even a draw will be enough for Norway, as they have a better goal difference, +4 compared to -9.
The Norwegians opened the tournament with a six-goal win over Croatia, 27:21, before losing in a tight contest against Japan, 24:26, despite Ada Aalstad scoring eight goals. With 10 goals, Aalstad is Norway's top scorer at China 2026, while the Faroe Islands' Silja Eystberg boasts a slightly bigger tally of 12.
The Faroe Islands, who received a wild card from the IHF to participate at the tournament, opened with a 22:32 defeat against Japan. But on the following day, they bounced back to claim their maiden win at this level, 23:22 against Croatia, which gave them a moral boost ahead of the key battle against Norway.
Germany v Romania, 18:30 CST
Germany, who won the title at the W19 EHF EURO 2025 last year, are aiming high again, and so far they have not faced any tough opposition. Following a big opening victory against Brazil, 39:22, they won by an even wider margin in their second match, 46:11 against Canada.
With 85 goals in two games, Germany have the second-best attack in the competition after Montenegro, who have one goal more. Farelle Njinkeu is their top scorer with 14 goals, while Chiara Rohr has 12.
Romania have also done well in attack, having scored 70 goals in two encounters. After defeating Canada 40:15 at the start, they were challenged by Brazil but ultimately snatched a dramatic win, 30:28, with Teodora-Lavinia Damian netting 10 times.
The rivals faced off at the group stage of the W19 EHF EURO 2025, when Germany won 35:31 on their way to the title. Now both sides have already booked their main round spots, but both Germany and Romania are determined to make it three wins from three.
Denmark v People's Republic of China, 18:30 CST
Both teams have the maximum of four points and are through to the main round, but Denmark have a better goal difference, +31 compared to the People's Republic of China's +22. A draw will therefore be enough for the Danes to top the group, but they will obviously be aiming for a win to start the next stage with two points.
Kristine Emilie Hoppe has had a special impact in both of Denmark's games so far, scoring seven goals against Guinea, 32:16, and adding 11 more in the following match against Algeria, 39:24. With 18 goals, the left back takes second place in the tournament's scoring chart, just one goal behind Republic of Korea's Ayoung Suh.
Playing at home, the Chinese team have also claimed the maximum of points against their African rivals. They defeated Algeria first, 33:20, before taking another win against Guinea, 27:18. Now the hosts face a much tougher task against Denmark, but with the support of their home crowd, they will try their best to upset the Europeans.
