Tahiti sweep New Zealand at Women's IHF Trophy Oceania

Three more matches were played on Tuesday, 17 October, at the Women's IHF Trophy Oceania in Nouméa, New Caledonia, in both the youth and the junior age categories.

In the only match of the youth (U17) tournament, 11 goals from Hanere Tevanira propelled Tahiti to a 19:12 win against New Zealand. After this game, Tahiti and New Caledonia both have two points, while New Zealand have no points.

The event will continue on Wednesday with two encounters: New Zealand play New Caledonia at 9:00 (local time), and then New Caledonia meet Tahiti at 18:00.

The teams of Tahiti and New Zealand also met at the junior (U19) competition, and Tahiti won as well, this time 21:15. In the other match, Australia beat Cook Islands with nearly the same score, 20:15. 

After the second day of the competition hosted by New Caledonia, New Zealand, Tahiti and Australia all have two points, while Cook Islands have zero points.

On Wednesday, Cook Islands meet New Zealand at 16:00, while Tahiti play New Caledonia at 20:00. Australia have a rest day.
