Schedule for the 10th IHF Men’s Youth World Championship released

The IHF Men’s Youth World Championship is set to return after a four-year hiatus, with the schedule for the 10th edition of the competition, which will take place in Croatia, now being released.

The competition will see four arenas hosting the matches between Wednesday, 2 August and Sunday, 13 August, with the 32 teams seeing action in Varaždin, Koprivnica, Opatija and Rijeka.

This will be the first edition of the IHF Men’s Youth World Championship with 32 teams and the first with 116 scheduled games.

All teams will enter the fray on Wednesday 2 August on the first day of competition, with the preliminary round set to end on Saturday 5 August, with a full card scheduled once again.

The competition will be opened simultaneously, with all four venues hosting matches in the preliminary round at 13:00 CEST. Portugal will face Rwanda in the first game in the Arena Varaždin, reigning champions Egypt will meet Brazil in the Josip Samaržija-Bepo Arena in Koprivnica, Denmark will play against Chile in the Dvorana Mladosti in Rijeka and Germany will meet Saudi Arabia in Opatija.

After a rest day on Sunday, 6 August, each venue will have a main round group and a President’s Cup group on display on Monday, 7 August, and Tuesday, 8 August, with another rest day scheduled for Wednesday, 9 August.

The quarter-finals are set to be played in Varaždin on Thursday, 10 August, with the other venues seeing Placement Matches and the President’s Cup matches played.

Friday, 11 August, is the day of the semi-finals in Varaždin, with the final and the bronze medal match, as well as the other two Placement Matches, set to be played on Sunday, 13 August, in Varaždin.
