Restarting after COVID-19 confinement headlines Symposium session three

Session three of the 1st IHF Live Online Symposium, taking place on Friday, 10 July and Saturday, 11 July, sees an important topic as the central focus: restarting handball after the COVID-19 confinement period, during which many teams and handball players have been less active than usual.

Three of the four lectures that form part of session three will concentrate on this concept, from coaching, physical and mental health, and physical fitness perspectives.

After his lecture opened the very first session of the 1st IHF Live Online Symposium, head of the German Handball Federation (DHB) younger age category national teams Jochen Beppler returns alongside DHB National Coach Strength & Conditioning David Gröger. Their presentation focuses on the general topic of restarting, and will start at 13:00 CET on Friday.

At 15:00 CET, the session will continue with the next presentation, dedicated to dealing with the confinement and returning to competition. As with every lectures forming part of the Symposium, the topic is of relevance to all working in handball and all enthusiasts. However, this particular presentation has a slant towards the refereeing standpoint, as it will be presented by the IHF referees health and fitness team: fitness coach Dani Ariño, physiotherapist Maria Muller-Thyssen, sports nutritionist Ari Magriña, and psychologist and mental coach Lucia Rodriguez.

On Saturday, the return-to-action theme will continue with a presentation from physical preparation coach of the men’s team at Paris Saint-Germain Handball, Arthur Yapo, beginning at 15:00 CET.
