The African representative will be Egyptian powerhouse Al-Ahly, which secured their ticket by winning the 2025 African Handball Super Cup, ahead of fellow Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek SC, which are qualified for the 2025 IHF Men's Club World Championship as hosts.
Sharjah SC, which won the 2025 Asian Club League Handball Championship with a 27:26 win against Khaleej Club in the final, are due to represent Asia, becoming the first team from the United Arab Emirates to ever play in the competition.
The winners of the 2025 South and Central American Men's Club Handball Championship, Brazilian side Handebol Taubaté, will return to the competition, after winning 22:20 against EC Pinheiros in the final of the continental competition.
The California Eagles will also make their comeback after their maiden participation in 2024, after winning the NACHC Qualifier, while the Oceania representatives will be Sydney Uni, making their 12th appearance in the competition, after securing the title in the Australian Club Championships and Oceania Qualifier.
The line-up is completed by FC Barcelona, the recipients of a wild-card, making their eighth consecutive appearance and their 11th in history, being the most decorated team in the competition, with five gold and two silver medals.
The draw for the 2025 IHF Men’s Club World Championship will take place on Monday, 11 August, at 18:45 EEST (17:45 CEST), in the Cairo Stadium, Egypt, on the outskirts of the 2025 IHF Men's Youth World Championship. The nine teams are divided into three groups of three teams each for the preliminary round and have already been set into three separate pots.
