Following the conclusion of the quarter-finals in the women’s handball competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the two semi-finals are now set.

Sweden have won against Hungary, after a fantastic match, which needed extra-time to decide the winner, while France beat Germany to set-up the second consecutive semi-finals clash at the Olympics between the two sides.

In the other two quarter-finals, Norway registered the fourth double-digits win in this phase of the competition and the largest in history, while Denmark bounced back after a slow start to secure a place between the top four teams in the world. The two sides have also met in the semi-finals in the 2023 IHF Women’s World Championship.

Both the men’s and the women’s semi-finals in the handball competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will take place in the Stade Pierre Mauroy in Lille. The women’s competition will see the semi-finals played on Thursday, 8 August, while in the men’s competition, the semi-finals are scheduled on 9 August.
