Paris 2024 Olympic Qualification Tournaments schedule released

Six Olympic Qualification Tournaments will deliver the last 12 qualified teams for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Three tournaments for the men’s competition are scheduled between 14 and 17 March, while the three tournaments for the women’s competition are scheduled between 11 and 14 April.
The men’s Olympic Qualification Tournaments will be hosted by Granollers in Spain, Hanover in Germany and Tatabánya in Hungary, with the top two teams in each tournament sealing their tickets for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
While the competitions in Hanover and Tatabánya, the Olympic Qualification Tournaments #2 and #3 are scheduled to be played on 14, 16 and 17 March, the Olympic Qualification Tournament #1 in Granollers will take place on 14, 15 and 17 March.
The Olympic Qualification Tournament 1 will be played in the Palau d'Esports de Granollers, the arena which hosted the finals at the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games and was also the host of the final weekend of the 2021 IHF Women’s World Championship with a capacity of 6,500 spectators.
The ZAG Arena in Hanover with a capacity of 9,800 spectators in Germany, that is often used for handball events in Germany will be the host for the Olympic Qualification Tournament 2, while the Tatabánya Arena in Hungary, the fourth-largest handball arena in Hungary, with a capacity of 6,000 seats, is due to host the Olympic Qualification Tournament 3.
Hosts France, world champions Denmark, Pan American Games winners Argentina, the African champions Egypt, Sweden and Japan are the six teams which have already sealed their tickets for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The three women’s tournaments are hosted by Debrecen in Hungary, Torrevieja in Spain and Neu-Ulm in Germany.
While the competitions in Debrecen and Torrevieja, the Olympic Qualification Tournaments #1 and #2 are scheduled to be played on 11, 12 and 14 April, the Olympic Qualification Tournament #3 in Neu-Ulm will take place on 11, 13 and 14 April.
The Palacio de los Deportes de Torrevieja, which hosted matches at the 2021 IHF Women’s World Championship, with a capacity of 4,500 seats, will be one of the venues, while the Főnix Arena in Debrecen is due to host the competition in Hungary.
Already qualified for the Women’s Handball competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games are France (hosts), Norway (2023 IHF Women's World Championship - runners-up), Denmark (EHF EURO 2022 runners-up), Brazil (2023 Pan American Games winners), Republic of Korea (Asian Olympic Qualification Tournament winners), Angola (African Olympic Qualification Tournament winners).
