Nigeria and Ghana claim titles at the IHF Trophy Men Zone 3 Africa

Nigeria youth and Ghana junior teams became the winners of the IHF Trophy Africa Zone 3, which took place in Accra, Ghana, from 20 to 24 February 2024. Both teams also booked their tickets to the IHF Trophy Continental Phase Africa.
In the youth (U18) tournament, the two best teams of the preliminary stage, Nigeria and Ghana, met in the final match on Sunday, and the Nigerians won by eight goals, 33:25. Benin earned bronze after celebrating a victory in the third-place encounter against Togo, 30:20.
In the junior (U20) tournament, the format was different as following the group stage, the semi-finals were played on Saturday. Both matches were quite tight, and while home side Ghana defeated Benin 31:26, Ivory Coast had the upper hand against Nigeria, 36:31. On the following day, eight goals from Michael Pascal Sosu lifted Ghana to a win against Ivory Coast in the final, 32:28, and Nigeria ranked third after comfortably beating Benin in a bronze-medal encounter, 42:28.
