New IHF World Handball Magazine – Tech issue focuses on the 2025 IHF Men's Junior World Championship

The International Handball Federation proudly presents the latest edition of the IHF World Handball Magazine – Tech for 2025, offering in-depth technical analysis and insight into the 2025 IHF Men’s Junior World Championship in Poland. This issue features critical contributions from the IHF Game Analysis Team—Paul Landuré, Jorge Dueñas, Salim Belmessaoud, and Dietrich Späte.

Highlights include a general analysis of the 2025 IHF Men’s Junior Championship, a focus on creative attacking play, and specific review of the Faroe Islands’ innovative tactics, particularly their approach to empty-goal situations and seven-against-six or seven-against-five scenarios, which successfully guided the European side to a maiden bronze medal in the competition.

The magazine presents data-driven studies of offensive actions, in-depth looks at shot variations against opposition, and the evolving rise of tactical explosivity in elite handball, in articles signed by Paul Landuré, Jorge Dueñas and Dietrich Späte.

Salim Belmessaoud delves into advanced analytical methods, with comprehensive Dartfish PowerBi-based evaluations and a concluding study of game-defining final actions.

The new issue of the IHF World Handball Magazine – Tech, as well as the previous editions of the IHF World Handball Magazine – Tech and the IHF World Handball Magazine can be digitally read on the IHF Education Centre website.

Within the IHF Education Centre, users can currently find extensive learning materials divided into six categories: coaches, referees, teachers and delegates, as well as a separate coaches’ library designed for teachers and a section about top players in the sport. Between all the categories, materials for teaching and coaching handball from an early age all the way to the highest level of adult competition are provided, as well as the vital areas surrounding management of the game.

The teachers section focuses on the Handball at School programme, providing teaching materials and rules for the adapted children’s game, as well as 3D animations to serve as visual aids. The coaches’ library features two different sections: handball for beginners, concentrating on playing and training methods for the introduction of handball to children aged six up to 12, and basic training, for 12 to 15-year-olds.

Moving up in age bracket, the coaches section of the Education Centre provides materials for working with all levels, from basic to the top. This section includes technical analyses of different events such as World Championships and Olympic Games, detailed explanations of tactical elements in attack and defence, and a tactics school for individual, group and team tactics. In addition, the coaches’ symposium section provides theoretical lectures and practical demonstrations.

The players section serves all coaches, teachers and handball athletes no matter the age bracket or level, by providing profiles of the game’s standout players at different events as well as leading stars like World Players of the Year.

Through these topics, the IHF World Handball Magazine – Tech continues its mission to analyze the latest coaching and tactical trends, and support the ongoing education of coaches, referees, and teachers worldwide. The magazine, alongside its previous issues, is available exclusively through the IHF Education Centre, where users will also find a comprehensive digital library for every stage of handball coaching and refereeing.
