Match evaluation and determination of places
Quarter-Finals
After completion of the eighth-finals round, all matches shall be played in accordance with the knock-out system.
In case of a draw at the end of the regular playing time, after a break of five (5) minutes, a first overtime period of 2x five minutes shall be played, changing sides halfway through with a one (1)-minute break in-between. Provisions to the contrary set for individual tournaments shall be given priority.
If the match should still not be decided after this overtime period, after a break of five minutes, a second overtime period of 2x five minutes shall be played, changing ends halfway through with a one-minute break in-between.
Should the match still not be decided after the second overtime period, it is decided with 7m penalty throws in accordance with Rule 2:2 of the Rules of the Game.
The winners of the quarter-finals shall advance to the semi-finals; the losers compete in the placement matches (5th-8th rank).
Placement round / Placement matches
In case of a draw at the end of the regular playing time, direct 7m penalty throws shall be executed to decide the match in accordance with Rule 2:2 of the Rules of the Game.
