After the draw ceremony back in April, the 15th AHF Women’s Asian Junior Championship gets underway later today in Beirut, Lebanon.

The competition lasts from today (Saturday 20 July) until Monday 29 July and features eight nations initially in two preliminary round groups:

Group A: Korea (KOR), China (CHN), Kazakhstan (KAZ), Chinese Taipei (TPE)

Group B: Lebanon (LBN), Japan (JPN), Uzbekistan (UZB), India (IND)

The top two teams in each group play each other in the semi-finals, before the winners of those play in the final, while the teams which finish third and fourth in each group will play off for 5-8 place.

All games are being played at the Hatem Achour Complex in Beirut.

Korea are the record title-holders, winning all 14 previous editions, most recently in 2017 in Chinese Taipei.
