ITA offer webinar exploring the relationship between doping and mental health

The International Testing Agency (ITA) has announced another webinar covering the issue of doping and mental health, with the latter topic becoming a focus in world sport over the last years, as the COVID-19 pandemic set in and disrupted the day-to-day activities.

As plenty of high profile athletes have spoken out over the crucial importance of mental health in sports and in normal life, the ITA is trying to find the relationship between doping and mental health, more precisely how the latter is influenced by the former.

With specialists in the anti-doping battle and mental health taking control of the panel, athletes can learn about the strategies that can be used to support and improve their mental health, while coaches and the entire sport system can learn what to do to support the athletes’ well-being to prevent doping.

The moderator of this episode of the webinar series conducted by the ITA will be Nikki Hamblin from the ITA Education Team, while the panelists will be Thais Cevada, PhD, a member of the Brazilian NADO Education Team, and Genevieve Jackson, a former professional cyclist and a former member of Canada’s Olympic Team.

The webinar, which will take place on Tuesday 26 April between 15:00 and 16:00 CEST, will be conducted in English, with translation into four additional languages – Arabic, Spanish, French and Russian – available.
