The 40th Ordinary IHF Congress is scheduled to take place from 19 to 22 December 2025 in Cairo, Egypt. 

During the Congress, a range of key leadership positions in the International Handball Federation are open to election, including:

• President
• 1st Vice-President
• Treasurer
• Two (2) members of the Executive Committee
• Chairperson of the Commission of Organising and Competition (COC)
• Chairperson of the Playing Rules and Referees Commission (PRC)
• Chairperson of the Commission of Coaching and Methods (CCM)
• Chairperson of the Medical Commission (MC)
• Chairperson of the Commission for Development (CD)
• Chairperson of the Arbitration Tribunal
• Ten (10) Members of the Arbitration Tribunal
• Chairperson of the Arbitration Commission
• Ten (10) Members of the Arbitration Commission
• Chairperson of the Ethics Commission
• Five (5) Members of the Ethics Commission
• Two (2) internal IHF auditors
• One (1) substitute auditor

Candidates aspiring to stand for any of the aforementioned roles are encouraged to complete and submit the required documentation via the official IHF email address no later than 21 September 2025. It is imperative that all candidates meet the eligibility requirements set forth in Article 13.7 of the IHF Statutes as detailed in the official application forms.

Furthermore, the deadline for National Federations to register their official participants for the 40th Ordinary Congress of the IHF is 21 September 2025. This date also marks the cutoff for Member Federations, Continental Confederations, the Council, the Executive Committee, and the President to submit motions in accordance with Articles 13.6.1 and 13.6.2 of the IHF Statutes.
