IHF Trophy Africa continues with two new Zones covered at the youth and junior level

Four youth and five junior national teams are set to participate in the Men's IHF Trophy Zone 4 Africa, which will be held in Yaounde, Cameroon, from 21 to 25 May 2024. The winners of both tournaments will secure their spots at the IHF Trophy Continental Phase Africa, which will be held later this year.

The teams from Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo and Chad are going to take part in the youth (U18) competition, and the same nations plus Democratic Republic of Congo will play in the junior (U20) event. The venue for all the encounters is Paposy.

At the youth age category, the group stage will be held from 21 to 23 May. On the opening day, Central African Republic face Chad at 12:00 (local time), and then Cameroon take on Congo at 18:00. The two best teams will meet in the final match on 25 May, and the day before, the two other sides are going to fight for the bronze.

The junior tournament will be played in a round-robin format. On day 1, Chad face Cameroon at 14:00, and Democratic Republic of Congo meet Congo at 16:00. Central African Republic will enter the race on Day 2. 

Teams from four countries to fight for IHF Trophy Zone 7 Africa

The capital of Madagascar, Antananarivo, is set to host the youth and junior tournaments of the Men's IHF Trophy Zone 7 Africa from 22 to 25 May 2024. All the matches will be held at the Palais des Sports – Mahamasina.

The teams from Comoros, Madagascar and Seychelles will participate in the youth tournament, and the same nations plus Reunion are going to play in the junior event. The winners of both competitions will book their tickets to the Men's IHF Trophy Continental Phase Africa.

The youth (U18) tournament will be held in a double round-robin format, so all the teams will meet each other twice. On Wednesday, Comoros will meet Seychelles in the opening game at 12:00 (local time).

The junior (U20) event will start with a group phase, which will last from 22 to 24 May. On day one, Madagascar meet Reunion at 15:00, and Comoros face Seychelles two hours later. Following this stage, the two best teams will face off in the final on 25 May, and on the same day, the two other sides will fight for the third place.
