On Wednesday, 23 April 2026, IHF President Dr Hassan Moustafa welcomed IOC Sports Director Mr Pierre Ducrey and IOC Summer Sports & IF Relations Manager Ms Justine Bowden to the new IHF House in Basel, Switzerland, for a wide-ranging bilateral meeting aimed at strengthening the close relationship between the International Handball Federation and the International Olympic Committee.

The meeting, held at the IHF's new House, covered a broad range of topics reflecting the shared priorities of both organisations in the months and years ahead.

A central item on the agenda was the IHF's vision following the re-election of Dr Moustafa as IHF President, including a detailed presentation of the IHF Four-Year Plan 2026–2029. The IOC provided a corresponding update on its Fit for the Future programme, setting the stage for a constructive exchange on the evolving landscape of international sport governance.

The discussions also devoted significant attention to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, with both parties addressing the handball programme for this edition of the Olympic Games.
