The International Handball Federation is saddened by the passing of Ewan Hunter, CEO of the Scottish Handball Association, who died at the age of 52 following an illness.

Hunter was a passionate advocate for the growth of handball, and in particular for the development of the sport at grassroots level in Scotland. Since joining the Scottish Handball Association in 2019, he played a central role in driving the game forward and helping to strengthen its foundations for the future.

Hunter’s dedication and leadership, as well as his enthusiasm for handball made a lasting impact on the Scottish handball community. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working with him.

On behalf of the entire IHF handball family, the IHF President, Dr Hassan Moustafa, would like to express his deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr Hunter and all of those who worked alongside him.
