Twenty-five coaches completed the IHF D Licence Course held at the Kowloon City Sports Center in Hong Kong, China, from 16 to 20 July 2026, with the programme placing a strong emphasis on practical work and the application of the IHF methodology.

The course brought together 18 men and seven women, all from Hong Kong, China, with every participant successfully completing the requirements of the five-day programme. The group was assessed by the course lecturer as homogeneous, while the overall level of the participants before the course was considered normal. Their attitude and engagement throughout the programme were rated as good.

The course was led by IHF CCM Lecturer Harinder Pal Singh Chhina of India and was conducted in English. Rather than keeping the work confined to the classroom, participants were directly involved in the practical sessions, serving as the subjects for demonstrations and exercises on court.

The practical element was closely linked to the teaching of the IHF methodology. Coaches worked through exercises designed to translate the principles introduced during the theoretical sessions into practice, with an emphasis on learning by doing and on how those methods can be applied when working with young players.

The participants' involvement was particularly evident in the assessment of individual progress. Eight coaches were highlighted for their potential, with several standing out for their work across both the theoretical and practical elements of the course.

The course was supported by new handballs and a range of practical materials, including cones, rings, hoops and coloured bibs, while a screen and projector were used during the theoretical sessions. The lecturer rated the quality of the course materials as excellent.

Chhina described the course as a positive experience, highlighting the participants' motivation and their active involvement throughout both the theoretical and practical sessions.

With all 25 participants completing the course successfully, the IHF D Licence Course provided a new group of Hong Kong, China coaches with a qualification grounded in practical work and the IHF approach to youth development.
