IHF and ITA launch New Anti-Doping webinar series to educate the handball community

The International Handball Federation (IHF) and the International Testing Agency (ITA) are proud to announce the launch of the IF Anti-Doping Webinar Series Edition 2026, a free three-part educational programme designed to equip athletes, coaches, officials and handball administrators with the knowledge they need to navigate the anti-doping landscape.

Building on the success of the previous editions, the new series will take place every Wednesday from 22 April to 6 May 2026, from 14:00 to 15:00 CEST, and will be conducted in English with simultaneous translation available in Arabic, French, Mandarin Chinese, Russian and Spanish.

The three webinars will address some of the most critical topics in anti-doping education:

  • Wednesday, 22 April — Introduction to Anti-Doping: An overview of athlete rights and responsibilities, Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRVs), the consequences of doping and proactive reporting. - register HERE

  • Wednesday, 29 April — The Prohibited List, Medications, TUEs and Supplements: A detailed look at the Prohibited List, Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs), supplement risks and the principle of Strict Liability - register HERE

  • Wednesday, 6 May — Testing: An in-depth session covering testing procedures, the Athlete Biological Passport (ABP), testing pools and whereabouts obligations - register HERE

The series is open to everyone in the handball community: athletes, athlete support personnel, national federation staff and members of Athletes' Commissions. The ITA specifically aims to reach those who may not have previously had access to anti-doping education, providing them with the tools and knowledge to protect both themselves and the integrity of the sport.

National Federations are reminded that, under the World Anti-Doping Code, conducting education activities is one of their core responsibilities. This series provides an excellent and accessible opportunity to fulfil that obligation and strengthen existing anti-doping programmes.

Participants who complete the series will receive a personalised IF Webinar Series Certificate. To qualify, they must either attend at least one webinar live or access the recordings through the IF Webinar Series Toolkit and complete an online test, which will be made available after the final session. The test will remain open for six weeks following the end of the series, until 17 June 2026.
