IHF and ITA to hold anti-doping webinar before the Olympic Qualification Tournaments

As part of IHF’s long-term commitment towards clean sport through education, sport-specific anti-doping webinars via Zoom are due to be hosted before the Olympic Qualification Tournaments, which will take place in March for the men’s teams and in April for the women’s teams.

The participating teams in the competitions are invited to take part on Thursday 7 March and Thursday 4 April 2024, at 14:00 CET, in the two webinars hosted in collaboration with the International Testing Agency (ITA).

The topics of the webinar are:

  • The anti-doping landscape – Understand which rules, principles apply to you as an athlete and other members of the sport community.
  • The Prohibited List in general and substances prohibited in- and out-of-competition – also mentioning recreational drugs, how to check medications, and practical tips and scenarios.
  • Food-first approach & supplements - Understand how to make informed decisions about supplements.
  • Therapeutic Use Exemptions - Understand what a TUE is and when to apply for one.
  • The Doping Control Process – Athletes’ rights and responsibilities during the doping control process
