Home side Peru claim two wins on day one in Lima

The South American zone youth and junior tournaments of the Women's IHF Trophy South and Central America threw off on Tuesday 6 June with four matches played in Lima, Peru.
At the youth (U17) event, home side Peru enjoyed a commanding 63:2 win against Bolivia, with their player Kyara Vidales scoring 13 goals.
The fight was closer in the game between Colombia and Venezuela. The teams were level at 8:8 at the break before the Colombians pulled clear in the second half to claim a 25:16 victory.
On Wednesday, the competition will continue with two matches. At 13:00 (local time), Venezuela face Bolivia, as both rivals are looking for their maiden points. And at 17:00, Peru meet Colombia.
Peru also took a big win against Bolivia at the junior (U19) tournament (47:6). In the other match, Venezuela defeated Ecuador with nearly the same score (46:6), as their player Maria Escobar became the top scorer of the day with 14 goals.
On day two, Bolivia meet Venezuela at 15:00 and Colombia play their opening match at the event against Peru at 19:00. Ecuador have a rest day.
