Guinea and Senegal claim two wins on day one in Bamako

The Women’s IHF Trophy Africa Zone 2 opened on Wednesday 19 April with six matches, including two games at the youth (U17) competition and four encounters at the junior (U19) event.

At the youth tournament, which is divided into three groups, Guinea comfortably beat home side Mali in Group B (49:18), while Senegal defeated Morocco in Group C (28:14).

On Thursday, Mauritania meet Sierra Leone in Group A (14:00 local time), Guinea-Bissau face Mali in Group B (16:00), and Gambia play Morocco in Group C (18:00).

At the junior event, eight participants are divided into two groups. In Group A, Sierra Leone had the upper hand against Mauritania (40:20), while Senegal defeated Morocco (43:18).

On Thursday, Sierra Leone and Senegal face off at 12:00, and Morocco meet Mauritania at 14:00.

In Group B, Cape Verde became the only team to reach the 50-goal mark on the opening day as they beat Guinea-Bissau 50:20, and Guinea followed the example of their U17 team, beating home team Mali 48:13.

On day two, Guinea face Cape Verde at 16:00, and Guinea-Bissau meet Mali at 18:00.
