The final day of the Group Phase at the 2026 IHF Men’s Club World Championship will define the final standings in the two groups, as well as the teams which are due to feature in the bronze medal match in the last day of the competition.

Both group winners, FC Barcelona and Veszprem HC, are favourites against two teams who will finish last in their groups.

• 13:15 – Group A: Zamalek Club vs E.C. Pinheiros
• 15:30 – Group A: FC Barcelona vs Montada
• 17:45 – Group B: Veszprem HC vs Burgan SC
• 20:00 – Group B: Füchse Berlin vs Al Ahly

With two wins in two matches against the other teams which have won one match so far in the group phase, FC Barcelona and Veszprem HC have already secured their place in the final of the 2026 IHF Men’s Club World Championship.

Barcelona is, by far, the team with the best attack, scoring 83 goals in two matches so far, and will face Montada, the team which conceded the largest number of goals, 79, and scored the second lowest number, 39.

The Spanish side has been in fine form on both sides of the ball and will fight with Veszprem for the title – which would be their seventh in history in the competition, and could probably see some players rested for the big game.

Montada, a debutant at this level, failed to provide any meaningful danger to their opponents, just like the other last-placed side in their group, Burgan SC, Veszprem’s opponent in the penultimate match of the day.

The Moroccan and the Kuwaiti side, two debutants at this level, will face in the Placement Match 7/8 on the last day of the competition.

The first and the last match will be the ones shaping up the final standings. In Group A, both Zamalek Club and E.C. Pinheiros are level on two points, with Zamalek boasting a better goal difference, +15 than Pinheiros +4.

The Egyptian side could secure their best finish since 2012, when they ended up fourth, provided if they win against Pinheiros. So far, the two sides have been on par in the number of goals scored, averaging around 37 and 35 goals per match respectively.

With young players on both sides, the meeting will provide some entertaining handball, especially as Pinheiros can also ensure tying their best-ever finish in the competition, the fourth place in 2021.

Füchse Berlin came into the competition aiming to get to the final, but their 33:34 loss against Veszprem in the previous match blocked all avenues towards that goal.

Now they face Al Ahly, the Egyptian side which never finished lower than the fifth place in any of their previous six appearances, with a win or a draw sending the German side into the bronze medal match.

Al Ahly dominated Burgan, but lost clearly against Veszprem, but Füchse are coming after a disappointing loss, where their performance collapsed in the dying minutes of the match.

The German side still has the second best attack in the group phase, while Al Ahly conceded the lowest number of goals, 48, so far, making it a crunch clash to end the fourth day.
