Coming up: Fantastic summer to throw off with action-packed June

An action-packed summer, filled with several high-profile competitions, will throw off with some fantastic action in June, where champions are crowned throughout the world at both the national and club level in indoor handball, as well as on the beach.

The 2024 IHF Women’s Junior World Championship will throw off in Skopje, North Macedonia, on 19 June, with 32 teams at the start, including the usual powerhouses as reigning champions Norway, the runners-up from two years ago, Hungary, or Denmark and the Republic of Korea, the most decorated teams in the history of the competition.

The competition will be played in three arenas, Boris Trajkovski and the two in the Jane Sandanski Complex, and will run between 19 June and 30 June.

June 2024 also marks the return of the IHF Men’s and Women’s Beach Handball World Championships, with the top 16 men’s teams and the top 16 women’s teams in the world fighting for the coveted title.

The 2024 IHF Men's and Women's Beach Handball World Championships will take place at the 'Pingtan International Beach Sports Base' at the Long Wangtou Ocean Park on Pingtan Island in the People's Republic of China from 18 to 23 June 2024.

The competition will also be played on the International Beach Handball Day, which takes place on 20 June in every year.

At club level, the business end of the two editions of the EHF Champions League, the men’s and the women’s are scheduled for the first two weekends in June. The EHF FINAL4 Women is due to take place in the MVM Dome in Budapest on 1 and 2 June, with Gyori Audi ETO KC, Team Esbjerg, Metz Handball and SG BBM Bietigheim fighting for the trophy.

The EHF FINAL4 Men is scheduled for Cologne, on 8 and 9 June, with SC Magdeburg, Barca, THW Kiel and Aalborg Handbold playing for the trophy, as four of the best teams in Europe aim to clinch the title in the 15th edition of the competition.

The 2024 FISU World University Championship Handball will also take place between 24 and 30 June in Madrid, Spain, while the Men's IHF trophy Asia - Zone 3 (Central Asia) is due to take place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, between 22 and 26 June 2024.

Moving back to the beach handball, the ebt Finals for both men’s and women’s will take place between 13-16 June 2024, in Lacanau, France, with the 14 teams split into two groups of seven, with the top four advancing to the quarter-finals, before the battle for the medals commences.

The Euro Hand 4 All is a tournament for senior national Wheelchair handball teams of the world and will take place between 20 and 22 June in Ecully, France. Six teams, including France, Norway, the Netherlands and Hungary, will take the court in these days, putting on a show.
